(...) El fotógrafo, cineasta y crítico cubano Enrique de la Uz (La Habana, 1944) presenta una selección de su trabajo fotográfico realizado en la década del 70’ en blanco y negro, pero en una reimpresión reciente, de formato mayor y prácticamente inédito para los espacios galerísticos nacionales. Las imágenes del autor se caracterizan por la sucesión de escenas que narran la labor del obrero en los centrales azucareros. Resulta imposible obviar la cercana influencia del documental en estas piezas que, más allá del mero archivo, suponen un documento de mirada inquieta y perspicaz sobre la memoria de una imaginería sociopolítica de la Revolución en sus inicios. Establece interesantes rejuegos de proporción entre la maquinaria y la mano que la acciona y parte de las reflexiones historiográficas realizadas por Moreno Fraginals sobre nuestra identidad cultural. (...) The Cuban photographer, filmmaker, and critic Enrique de la Uz (Havana, 1944) present a selection of his photographic work done in the 1970s in black and white, but in a recent reprint, in a larger format and practically unpublished for the national gallery spaces. The author's images are characterized by the succession of scenes narrating the worker's work in the sugar mills. It is impossible to ignore the close influence of the documentary in these pieces that, beyond the mere archive, represent a document with a restless and insightful look at the memory of sociopolitical imagery of the Revolution in its beginnings. It establishes interesting replays of proportion between the machinery and the hand that drives it and starts from the historiographical reflections made by Moreno Fraginals on our cultural identity.
